On August 18th, Devon & I photographed Rowena & Jay. The ceremony was held at The Mill at Spring Lake. This was my 6th time photographing at The Mill, and it was beginning to feel like my very own backyard. Here are a few favorites from the day.
dana was stunning and possibly the most laid back, mellow bride we've had the pleasure of spending the day with in a while! last night was another kickin' party too, this time under a beautiful tent at the hyatt regency hotel in old greenwich, CT. some of the highlights of the day were sharing the dance floor with katie couric (a friend of the family), witnessing the junior bridesmaids bust a move on the floor, experiencing some authentic italian dance, and hearing jerry's dad sing a gorgeous opera song after dinner.
check out her moves!
on our way out at the end of the night, jerry grabbed devon for a quick snapshot.
talk about a fantastic reception! these guys got the party started in a major way at the westchester country club in rye, ny. the band, CTO, was **amazing**, truly the best we've seen in a while. the place was beautiful and we were fortunate to have PERFECT light during our quick portrait session on the golf course. this weekend was a special treat for us because we got to shoot this wedding and sunday's wedding with our favorite videographer richard avvento, from avventoweddings. congrats to kristin and michael for a great wedding!
Last Saturday we shot Max and Sabrina, who got ready at the W Hotel in Midtown and married at Peter White Studios in Chelsea. They were extremely enjoyable to photograph and between Max's straw cowboy hat and meat-packing district glamour-urban-grunge we came up with some fabulous (if I do say so myself) shots. Peter White Studios was a gorgeous location and we were sad to hear that the location may soon fall prey to corporate nine to fivers.
After looking through the following images, we couldn't decide which to choose. We took one out and put it back in. We took another out and put it back in. Another came out and we put it back in. In the end, ego won. No, editing won. No, ego won. No, editing won. No, ego won.
"...I keep finding more and more great shots as I look through the gallery. You are a miracle worker! Wow. Once again you've made me feel like a rockstar super-genius for booking you for our wedding pictures. Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
- Heather Linton "I am Heather's mother and...their love radiates from your pictures...From a mother's very happy heart your work is true genius and I cannot wait to meet and thank you in person."
"Hi Karen, we're back in the country and have finally be able to check out the photos. They are awesome, we LOVE them!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for our beautiful wedding photos. You guys did an amazing job (as we heard you would!). For us the best part was after a while we didn't even realize you were there, you guys did a seamless job with great candid shots. We truly enjoyed sharing our wedding day with you and look forward to recommending you to any friends looking for a photographer!
Thanks for everything!"
Marissa and Mike
"Thank you thank you thank you, Karen! My only problem is that when trying to make a "favorites" folder, I've found myself clicking on every photo! They are just so beautiful. We are just so lucky to have had you photograph our wedding- Thank you!"
Jackie & Max
"Hi Karen, I just wanted to thank you again for the album. I was looking through it for the thousandth time the other day and I really can't tell you how much I love absolutely everything about it. Your pictures are obviously superb and the layout of the album is just perfect. It is exactly what I wanted and I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate everything you guys did for us!"
Sara & Elan
"The photos are absolutely amazing-and I don't even think that that description does them justice. I am so thrilled at how the photos so incredibly, accurately depict the array of emotions of the day. What is really completely awesome is that 98% of the time it didn't even really feel like you guys were there-very, very stealthy! For the first time since the wedding I actually remember how it felt and what it was like-I seriously can't stop looking at them-Brian and I are so incredibly happy with the result-so thank you so very much!"
