this was definitely one of the most beautiful weddings i've photographed in a long time--not because it was aesthetically spectacular, but because it was a wedding oozing with soul, spirit, life! the dancing and wild, high-energy singing was unmatched, and bordered a mosh pit at some moments--almost dangerous, but quite a thrill! like the orthodox jewish wedding maria shot recently, i don't know that i can actually put the experience into words, and i hope that the photos are indeed worth a thousand...

Maria shoots Lea & Ofer

Maria photographed Lea and Ofer for us this past weekend. As you'll see from the photos, she rocked it. Here's what she had to say:

Wow, what a wedding. I haven't had such an adrenaline rush photographing since...Columbia 2003, when I was shooting as the town was being bombed.

Lea and Ofer's wedding was a wonderfully explosive combination of tradition, elegance, emotion, family and the love of this hip couple spilling over the party. I couldn't possibly describe it with words, I hope the images will give you a taste of the intensity and beauty I witnessed yesterday.

Thank you Lea and Ofer, it was an honor...and it only took me one day of recovery to be able to move my muscles again;-)

We're pleased to announce our latest talent--the skilled photographer and generally awesome fella, Mike. Where once he was Heather's right-hand man, he's now risen to shine in his own right as one of Karenscape Photographers' first shooters. Here's my favorites from his most recent wedding for us:

Bridal Twins!

Lenore was the bride, born 8 minutes before her identical twin. Fortunately, one sister was wearing all white, and a veil, so it was easy to tell who was who.

This was a daytime wedding, and i'm pleased to say that the guests definitely proved our theory wrong about it being impossible to party as hard during the day as you can at a nighttime wedding. This crowd was amazing! The music was supplied by DJ Serj Entertainment and the party was beyond hoppin'. Good ol' fashioned Italian Tarantella and all.

I've been experiencing a surge of artistic inspiration as of late and am really into the results of yesterday's shoot. Here's a sampling.
