Rhea & Scot: Good things come in simple packages

yesterday's wedding was the best. city hall, 90 degrees, terrible light, tons of people, and i was in heaven. after more than 300 weddings under my belt, a beautiful setting is--pardon the pun--cake, but with no flowers around, no breathtaking scenery, and no frills, my job was a challenge, and i love nothing more. it was also quite enjoyable, because rhea and scot are a wonderful, unpretentious couple and were so much fun to be around.

they got ready at the thompson hotel in soho and then we walked down the street and stumbled upon an amazingly imperfect mural of three scantily clad betty-page style ladies. across the street from that was a pyschedelic black and white mural, both of which were my favorite sort of spontaneous finds. on the way downtown we walked past a flower shop and rhea and scot decided to grab a simple bouquet. the unplanned-ness of it all was so cool.

at city hall the wait was long and the air was hot, and the ceremony was so fast i only had time to get in three or four shots. but i walked away feeling like it was one of my favorite weddings in a while.

i got this email from the b & g today:

"We just wanted to thank you again for making our special day even more
memorable, not to mention sticking it out for the long ass wait at
city hall. We got the slideshow while at the hotel on Saturday and LOVED it.

Truth be told, it made us a little "misty-eyed." It was a blast hanging out with you and we're thrilled that you had the time to squeeze us in.

We can't stop watching the slideshow. It truly captures the spontaneity of day and tells a wonderful story.

Thanks again,
Rhea & Scot"

it was my pleasure guys!

and by the way, no, the groom is not--nor is he related to--kiefer sutherland. (:

check out the slideshow i put together of the event.
